Homeless Man or Tree?

Running through my local park at night is a good thing, lord knows I need the exercise.  However, why are there so many bum-shaped trees off the jogging path?  Considering I have ran this particular route on three occasions, you would think I would start to learn that I don’t need to freak out.  I am in a very safe neighborhood, with a BH police response time of less than two minutes.  Every time I do go to the park for my run there are several other joggers, and even people at the playground.  However, I am three streets away from the wastelands that are Los Angeles, which is why I take extra precautions when going out on runs. 

Local LA news is something else.  They treat a news broadcast like big-budget film.  All of the women are absolutely gorgeous with overly attractive clothing, complex graphics are zooming all over the screen, and every time they shoot a car it immediately explodes.  Not to mention that all of the plots are dumbed down and completely implausible, like repairing space craft while IN SPACE.  Like that could ever happen.

On a sidenote, being a bit of a space buff, I’m really curious as to why they are going to remove these tiny fibers sticking out from in between the Space Shuttle underbelly tiles.  After landing, they have seen these fibers before, and it’s also my understanding that it would be extremely easy for anyone attempting to pull these fibers out to inadvertantly damage a tile.  However, I’m sure these guys are privy to a little more knowledge and experience than I am.

Is it bad that I am watching Mind the Store?  I’m only doing it because it is really close to me and I could go there any time I want.  It’s not like I think Pauly Shore is funny or anything.  He’s no Gallagher.
