Second Chance Tofu Pot Prom

Second chance proms are an interesting phenomena.  Strange more-so when the people in attendance are early twenties all the way to early thirties.  That’s all I have on that one.

Tonight was my third venture into Korea town, aka K-Town.  An absolutely crucial element to exploring K-Town is a Korean.  And so it begins:

  • Trust me, walking into K-Town without a Korean in tow is like spelunking without a torch, you’ll just get lost in the dark and starve to death.
  • Going into K-Town without a Korean along side is like time-travelling without proper temporal calculations, you’ll continually end up in 1950′s New York City.
  • Without a Korean, getting into K-Town is like trying to get into the Garden Of Eden, God just doesn’t allow it.
  • Getting into K-Town without a Korean by your side is like trying to land a Space Shuttle with a foam damaged wing, you’re likely to burn up on re-entry.

Alright fine that last one made no sense, and it was in poor taste.  But so was the whole fish that I partially ate at BCD Tofu House.  That’s right. They put a plate in front of me, with a whole fish on it, that had been breaded and lightly fried (I think).  I ate a tiny bit of it.  But some of the other guys were ripping the thing apart, pulling out the spine and what-not.  That was an interesting experience indeed.  I really wish I had my digital camera in tow, pictures would have been a plus.

I went to a really cool bar called El Carmen on 3rd street the other night.  Theme?  Taqueria/Tequila bar.  Decoration?  Mexican wrestler masks.  Yeah thats right, Mexican wrestler masks, all over the damn place.  Paintings, masks on the ceiling, mini-masks on the wall, masks on this and that.  This is a place I will definitely be taking those who visit me (I’ve started a list of the hot-spots).  I bet you thought it couldn’t get any coolor than Mexican wrestling masks, but you are wrong.  They had a bottle of Tequila with an actual dead King Cobra in it.  This guy seems to think that it is some sort of Vietnamese Tequila.  Some day I will take a shot of that.  Then I will grow poison sacks and be able to shoot venom!
