West Ham Preview, Terry and Deco Recap
Not too much news today ahead of our afternoon match. Right then, let’s dive in.
Manchester United and Liverpool came away with wins on Saturday, which should be no real surprise to anyone. However, the big surprise was Wigan handing one to Bolton 1-0 at the Reebok. Just like we wanted! Now everything is lined up for Arsenal to take 3rd with a West Ham win.
This article is a nice little recap on a very minor part of a very large game. Most people might have even missed. He summarizes the effects of Chelsea equalizing with Barca but focuses on Terry’s kick int Deco’s family jewels. Both of these teams are masters of the art of diving. I will never, ever forget how Deco reacted to that ball to the nuts. He, and most of the Barca squad, will always be fakers in my mind. How can a man writhe around on the ground like that but then have such an easy time standing up and arguing after being kicked in the nards? Terry, you did well. I applaud that yellow card. Enjoy:
Ashley Cole faces Tottenham tomorrow and he is likely to be welcomed with all sorts of nastiness. This write-up over at The Guardian outlines some of the cunt’s more recent interviews in which he states that life at Chelsea is ‘just as bad’ as that at Arsenal. Boo-hoo. I hope Tottenham can somehow pull an upset… I know Tottenham are our mortal enemies but I think we need Chelsea dropping points now more than Tottenham.
So Tomorrow is West Ham away at 1:30pm local time. That means 5:30am for me, so I’ll be up and cheering my heart out and then head back to bed. It’s going to be one hell of a match with all the built up tension in the Arsenal squad. West Ham haven’t been playing well at all so with that combination I expect to see strong play from Arsenal with some quality goals. We drew in this fixture last year but so much has changed that I wouldn’t make any comments from that alone.
We’ve got Adebayor back for this match and he could help as a tougher option up front. Eboue is still out though so our back line will still be make-shift. Ljungberg and Baptista are also still injured so I would expect so see our same all-star youngster mid-field. I love watching Hleb, Fabregas, and Rosicky play together. They work well with each other and both the back and front line, especially Henry. Henry played fabulous in a last match, creating lots of (wasted) opportunities, so I hope he will continue that trend at Upton Park.
And finally, I won my preview match in FIFA ’07 very convincingly with a 4-0 win for the Arsenal. I think this is going to have to be my new superstition if it proves anything close to true.
Come on Arsenal!

Watch Deco slow down when he realises who he is rushing at,caution being the better part of valour. And I think Ballack is stifling a sneaky little grin in the background. All in all a nice moment.
Im wrapping up warm to go to the Academy of Football this morning,Where I fully expect our boys to hand out a footballing lesson and banish thoughts of wednesday night.
Wow, that’s wild. It’s hard for me to condone any kind of intentional carding but he certainly showed that Deco is a liar and a faker.
