We shall see, I guess. I hated the idea right off the bat, but I think he deserves a chance to prove himself. I just hope it doesn’t make Gilberto resent the club or Arsene in any way, because I like Gilberto a lot more than I like Gallas and want to see him around for a long time.

Gallas doesn’t own you anything. He doesn’t have to show you anything either. He ‘s been named the club captain; if you don’t like it, go and ask AW why he did.
You must get off Gallas’s back now and let him focus on the job in hand.
I think naming Gallas as the Captain was a right decision with regard to cirumstances. Gallas is a natural leader and this is the type of lead Arsenal need right now, not a caring “father”. Thank you.

Typical Wenger. Very clever indeed. Hes done the british army trick,take the trouble mouthy one whit the big ego who rebels against the establishment and give them authority, give them a stake in the bigger picture, turn them INTO the establishment. Thus transforming all that negativity into positivity. I mean now Gallas IS Arsenal, (and knowing how much he loves himself) he’s not going to play up anymore is he?
