Hleb 1 – 0 Gunnerrific.com
Just one day after I wrote about how I disliked the way Hleb plays he puts on a clinic in Prague. Adding insult to injury he buried the game in extra time with a fine but scuffed strike. Kudos to Hleb and he has done quite well in starting the long journey to earn my trust back. Not that my trust matters much, I’m just a meager knob end. One nil to Hleb.
The volume and range of responses to my post yesterday was a sublime measure of human emotion. Nothing satisfies me more than being called an idiot, a pointless impostor journalist, and a goose *shock* in one foul swoop. If anyone that reads this blog thinks I’m a journalist go back to the stands at the Lane and stop calling me a baffoon. This is where you are supposed to come to listen to a die hard fan, download some cool wallpapers, and talk to other people in the comments.
I hope that my blog occasionally causes a positive stir in the Arsenal masses. Fortunately I have a thick enough hide that when someone calls me a vast turd it only brings a quarter tear to my eye. I would like to think that it is blogs like this that help push the Arsenal agenda forward, through controversy or not. However assuming such things might get me called the devil. Arseblogger led the way, the rest of us are just following suit.
Having 2 wins in 2 games is great! I hope we can keep this up for awhile. Hell why not the whole season. The Premier League is already off to a much more interesting start than last year. Manchester have suffered an injury blow with Rooney out for two months and Ronaldo has received a red card so he will be out for three games. Meanwhile Chelsea are continuing to survive despite being scored on by lesser sides. They’re in a bit of an injury crisis as well so maybe this is our first time in 2 years to be without injury problems. I’d better be careful saying that though because somebody could call me a dumb muppet.
On to other things… I think Gael Clichy’s secret identity is The Flash. I don’t understand how he is capable of running so fast throughout the entirety of the game. His burst of speed are amazing and I hope he keeps this up throughout the whole season. It’s strange to think that he was a part of The Invincibles on ’03-’04 and then to see how far he has come. I don’t even remember how many games he played that season, as far as I can recall just 17 minutes or so for one match. Somebody accuse me of knowing nothing about technique and then give me the exact details.
Our new right back is fitting in quite well. His run through the center of the field to create Hleb’s goal was quite impressive, and he hasn’t made any enormous errors in back. I can’t wait to see how Eduardo does when he debuts.
Oh and just to be clear I didn’t say I hated Hleb, I just hated the way he played. I really do hope he continues to score more goals though. Come on Arsenal!

I must say that although i was one of about 60 people who posted on here calling you a muppet yesterday it was nice to see an apology to the lad of sorts and you dealt with it in a good way yourself, with something similar to humour.
Clichy played enough games to get a medal in the 03/04 season so it had to have been a bit more than 17 minutes – he is the youngest player ever to get a premier league winners medal.
first up…..
You see, Mr. Gunnerific, the fact is that you know TOTAL FUCK about the players in the Arsenal squad. Your comments hold no water, they lack insight and maturity in your understanding of what the team is about.
Get a grip on your commentary capabilities before you start a blog like this.
WHAT A FUCKTARD YOU ARE.
i believe…well enuf…to convince…and keep on praying for arsenal to excel pundits expectations…becoz….of their odds…its the best time to strike when the iron is hot…there are not really in the spotlight of pressure to win premier league title…coz the AFC didnt spend as much…on the other hand..the one who shld try winning is liverpool…coz they spend the 2nd highest in EPL….well…not forgetting to mention Manure who is trying to sustain the title..so i believe…the gonners could quietly sneek into as least top 2….well as least
hey Will ! …..Even i was dissappointed at u’r earlier comments on hleb , but i know that you are also a gunner thats why think about the players.
anyways the last line of u’r last post was great
“Come on ARSENAL”
You are still a fuckin muppet.
i will never understand anyone who bags our players. Even if they have a bad season as hleb as seen to of had last season, he works hard, no bodey can boubt that and as long as he is an arsenal player he should be shown respect because if he is not losers like you will drive him away when it is clear that he has huge talent and an ability to score goal, which i always belived he had.
The anti-hleb brigade consists of the thickest fans we possess, listen at the games and you can identify them, then if you have any pride, you’ll spit on their shoes. OUR MOST TALENTED PLAYER, wake up numpties! As for him putting on a clinic last night, what a joke, poor game from Alex last night, as with most of the team. But then all the fans ever look at are goals and results, never the performance, which is why Hleb finds himself in this position with the fans in the first place.
It’s ironic really. Barely anyone played well for at least the first 50 minutes of the game, Hleb and Fabregas included. I’m a big fan of both of them, but it’s hilarious to see how as soon as a player scores or gets an assist so many people always declare it a good performance. Fabregas was particularly poor yesterday, despite his goal and great challenge near the end. To be honest he barely managed anything else good throughout the entire 90 minutes. I couldn’t help but wonder if the 5 man midfield causes him problems though, since recently he’s not been seeing as much of the ball as he would usually and has generally been pretty anonymous. I really hope that Eboue can find some form though, since I thought he was terrible from start to finish yesterday. He barely touched the ball and when he did it usually just resulted in him failing to take on his player and diving down to try and get a free kick. I would expect a much better performance from him if he plays on Saturday, he was really lightweight.
COME ON MY GUNNERS
Which site was it that declared Fabregas’ performance as ‘immense’? I suppose the author didn’t watch the game since otherwise he could not have possibly said that. Remind me never to go to whichever site it was again, crap journalism is so annoying.
You Baffoon… Never Diss The Hlebster Again!
the anti hleb brigade are the same idiots who hated cygan, almunia, kanu,, despite those players all putting in the time effort and performances. those fans rarely watch games and just watch crappy motd, then base their ideas for an entire performance on two clips of a player giving the ball away as though that sums up his entire game. its not a coincidence that half the disliked players at arsenal are seen as class acts when they play for other clubs. kanu has shown at pompey much what he showed at arsenal the difference is he was always under appreciated at arsenal because he didnt bang in 15 goals a season which is funny since bergkamp didn’t either yet no one would ever question him. cygan had it the worst though. i remember him being blamed when somebody blasted a shot from right in front of him straight at his face and it somehow bounced off his face and beat the keeper. he put in so many tight performances, like when senderos and cygan had that great run 2 years ago where they kept numerous clean sheets and yet only senderos got credit for it. he read the game brilliantly and its a real shame that he was treated like shit by so many fans because ‘HE ONCE HAD A BAD GAME VS ROMA’. basically terrible pundits on sky sports and the rest of the media and motd have managed to influence the stupid fans out there into believing shit. such a shame.
Bacary Sagna actually sprinted down the left (not the middle) to deliver the killer pass to Hleb and was I surprised or what to see him show up there. I’ve heard that he can play across the entire defence, fancy him as a left back too (chuckle!). I think he is yet to establish any kind of understanding with Eboue though… sometimes I think Eboue shld get the hell out of the way and let him sprint down the right in a one-two combo. Good to see the whole team fight together and win together though… no limp shouldered, brooding face upfront! That’s doing us more than a ton of good.
