Liverpool Trying to Upstage Arsenal?
Liverpool won their Champion’s League tie today 8-0 against an embittered Besitkas side. Besitkas clearly would have been better off forfeiting the game to retain their pride in beating Liverpool back in Turkey land. Liverpool has been looking depressingly, or rather joyfully, inept in their last several games, domestic and internationally. Today they managed to turn the table on poor little Besitkas, who was thumped around like the red-headed stepchild that is John Arne Riise.
Jamie Carragher somehow managed to escape any more foul trouble despite his penchant for violence and flailing body parts. Perhaps he didn’t deserve any discipline today but he has certainly warranted it in the last 5 or so games leading up to today. At what point will the FA review his previous infractions and choose to discpline him? Never, cause the FA are idiots.
Anyways, on to the Arsenal. Sweet, sweet, Arsenal. Our match against United was well played and we managed to escape with a point. However, I don’t think that we looked particularly strong at any point in the match. Would it be fair to say at this point that united are looking like a more sturdy and resilient game-winning team, despite the fact that we are tied with a game in hand? You tell me. I’m just posing the question.
Tomorrow we are Prague to play against… Slavia Prague. I’d expect a standard match where we secure a couple of goals and then hold them to it. I’ll maintain this perspective even though Wenger has omitted four of our core players out of the team. Hopefully it will give the others a chance to get in a groove together. Let’s just thank God this is the first time we’ve seen a major rotation of the squad in a match that is crucial… how could someone really support this week in and week out? Supporting Liverpool must require a level of impatience not even worth having.
Come on Arsenal!

“Supporting Liverpool must require a level of impatience not even worth having.”
Ironic coming from someone who supports a club who have yet to win the Champions League considering how many talented teams you have had in the recent few years, no?
and speaking about Jamie Carragher and violence, i’m still flabbergasted how Jens Lehmann has never been shown a red card or disciplined in the Premier League, you are right the FA are idiots!
Liverpool have got no need to upstage Arsenal. Why would we need to do that. Liverpool are the most successful english club not only in history, but the most successful english club this century (for example from the year 2000 onwards for all you brain surgeons out there). Just because Arsenal have been playing good football this season, and yes we are only barely 3months in, your fans now seem to think Arsenal are ‘the club to be’ when thats far from true. The only reason you havent rotated your squad this season is simple, and its because you dont have a squad that is big enough to rotate, unlike Liverpool who have a huge squad. Your team is just the same as all the other big clubs and only really has a minority of world class players, for example in my eyes, fabregas, van persie, gallas and sagna. All of your other players are only decent footballers. Like liverpool rely on gerrard your team relies on cesc fabregas who has been there to save your asses a few times this season. And Carragher violent? What football games do you watch, violent because at times he can be clumsy and handle the ball, or make a dodgy challenge once every 2 months like every other defender, open your eyes and look at the embarassing german nugget youv got in goal who thinks he can fight the world…
Liverpool had 5 CL trophy, Arsenal none…who is upstaging who?
We beat Besiktas 8-0, you beat Prague 7-0, who is upstaging who?
“We beat Besiktas 8-0, you beat Prague 7-0, who is upstaging who?”
Arsenal have 9 points from 3 games, Liverpool have 4 points from 4 games. I’ll take that any day.
your not that stupid r u.2 lucky flukes we beat Man U FA on penalties never should have they hit that much wood work they painted the goal the next day u beat us FA some years back as 2nd best team We draw 2 all against Man U on the weekend after they get first goal off a shocking decision you get 3 points against Everton on 2 penalties when the clearest penalty doesn,t get awarded etc etc
good on liverpool. i always appreciate when team comes out to play.wish they and most other premiership club would do more of that. maybe then we could call the prem the best league in the world without being embarassed.
so let hope we see them playing like that in the prem
As a Liverpool fan, I have nothing but admiration for the way Arsenal play the game. It’s a throwback to pass and move era, born and bred at Anfield. In my limited opinion, that’s how football should be played. However, it doesn’t always bring home the bacon. No explanations needed.
As for upstaging Arsenal, I have supported Liverpool since the early 70′s and will continue to do so, regardless. Our dominance of English and European football is well documented and for the record books. However, for me its in the past. What we have to do is now is continue building a winning culture and add to our already glorious past by making our own history today.
The future is bright, the future is RED!
hey 1 thing I will aknowledge the Liverpool players came out and said after the match with Arsenal that we where the better team. Unlike those manure wankers (although I am not saying we where the team on Saturday) all they could do is gripe and grope at any excuse for not being able to beat us. (Hargreaves what a f%$#ing tosser)!!!!!
Fair paly to Liverpool 8-0 in any language is a top effort.
Hope they come good and come second!!!!
Too bad Besiktas isn’t in the Premier League…
liverpool fans are just forgeting that champions league is all about knowing how to play your cards well if you are to go to a higher level.they are forgeting that they need more six points to qualify. 8-0 is equal to 3 points not nine.in fact i doubt if they will qualify. its still along way to go.theyare shouting at arsenal over breaking that small record but it will be a shame to liverpool if it doesnt qualify.therfore 8 -0 may be useless at the moment all they need is winning the next games.i tend to wonder why all the top teams are shouting at Arsenal, fergussion and his fans,hangreaves………………………………………..
liverpool have won 1 major trophy in how many years. there quality football days are well in the past. they really on long balls for a now. they need to change there whole mentality of football. maybe they done so well in the past that now they just turn up and expect results. kicking long balls up front is lazy football. liverpool used to play good football. ive never ever seen a team get turned over like when liverpool played barcelona when rivaldo was there 3 nil to barc was the score. the only thing i like about liverpool is when they play chelsea, there lazy football suites against chelsea. arsenal play the most attractive football fact.
all liverpool done last night was to tire themselves out for there next fixture, maybe when they were 4 nil up they should of taken off there star striker crouch. if they draw against porto what then.
Id rather play untidy football and win european trophies, than be an Arsenal and play unbelieveable football and win absolutenly nothing in europe. you wont win the title its a fact, and even if we dont were still more sucessful than you over the past few years, and if we are so boring, then how come we recorded the most exciting FA cup win for years and years against west ham and managed to pull off the most exciting and dramatic comeback football has ever seen in Istanbul, keep dreaming of supporting a club like us, arsenal are forever in our shadow
