WENGER always says he will buy players only if he thinks they will actually improve the side i.e. they are better than what he has already, but NEVER for silly money. In making these purchases, he obviously considers his reserve/youth side to see if someone is ready to step up, but usually I dont we'd often have a player that good i.e worth the minimum 10 mill quid being hidden in the reserves, other than Jack and Mannone. Therefore, the biggest hinderance from buying has been Wengers youth project intended to be a conveyor belt of stars but too many are turning out after many years of investment to being very far from that.He seems to have finally accepted that there is no replacement for experience by bringing in Campbell and he myt have to give in to Gallas jus to maintain the stability at the back because he otherwise needs to make too many changes at the back with the goalie situation THE story in Arsenal over the money issue and Wenger buying or NOT buying is consistantly unchanged.

Messi was given so much space and time in Barcelona. He could have scored five to seven goals so slack was the marking. Against chelsea he was annoymous last season. I bet Mourino will have aplan to shackle him and I don't think he can four goals again not even in Barcelona. Mourino is too smart/shrewd/pragamitic a guy to give Messi an inch of space. I am taking Inter to beat or draw with Barca in the first leg.
