United and Liverpool Slip Up

With Manchester only winning a point today the possibility of Arsenal winning the league, all-be-it without Fabregas, seems all the more… possible. Despite our consistent reign of injuries we suffer we do have an easier schedule, still, than the United or Chelsea. I’m not sure how far we will be able to go without Fabregas but the side that played Barcelona really didn’t do all that terrible.

And apparently in this thing called the FA Cup Portsmouth shocked Tottenham to advance to the finals. Arsenal’s not in it, so I really don’t care that much.

The gents over at FootyLatest.com wrote a short post about the 5 players Arsenal should offload. I think I agree with every single one of them: Almunia, Silvestre, Gallas, Campbell, and Rosicky. However, the real issue is who do we sign? You can’t just offload all those players and spend a boatload of cash to replace them. The issue with Arsenal, which Wenger and others have outright stated, is that they don’t have the money to go and buy big name players. That’s why our squad consists of skinny but skilled little kids like Theo Walcott. Until we pay off the stadium and start sitting on some money, or perhaps win a trophy, it will be business as usual.

In other news, Messi’s name continues to show up whenever I search for news about Arsenal. It has been several days since that defeat so this needs to go away fast. I wish for one second that I could have a football conversation with someone that didn’t have to involve Messi coming up. He is a punk.

  1. Don’t care bout pompey and spurs FA cup? Arsenal fans shoulda loved that move than chelsea fans. We are gonna play a crippled spurs at 3 point lane on wednesday.

  2. Fair enough. Any damage to the spurs is a good thing for the Arsenal.

I think our run in is far from easy, Tottenham and Blackburn away (both chelsea and Man U have drawn at Ewood park) and an in form Man City at home.

Chelsea will need to drop more than 3 points and have a better goal difference.

Mark my words it will take a miracle with all the injuries we have.

  4. Arsenal will not win the league, we have been for five years stuck in the wilderness because Wenger wanted to prove a point, and it hasn’t worked, in fact his youth policy has back fired in dramatic style, his arrogance has cost us trophies, and I for one will be relieve when he goes

  5. Looneygooner shut-up. Does everything just end now because we finished 2nd in the league and not first. Really though if Wenger can achieve that with players who will only get better and now start spending some larger transfer monies Arsenal are in prime position. Chelsea have to bring their wages down to meet turnover and United need to sell Rooney each year to make profit.

One(MU) down one more to go. Arsenal will win the title.

  7. Man I am so sick of Arsenal fans saying to get rid of Wenger if we dont win something. I wonder when they started following the mighty Arsenal. I am from AUS and watch them play at early hours in all comps. I think the day Wenger goes is the day we drop off… Same as Manure when SAF goes, they will too. Nothing last forever, everyone has their day in the sun and in shade… So love the time we have with Arsene!!! I KNOW I DO!!!

  8. All our remaining games are difficult or very difficult starting with a Spurs side who have to win on Wednesday, a Wigan side only one point about the relegation places, a Man City side on fire, and a Blackburn side away from home who Chelsea and ManU could not beat, a Fulham side who are organised and confident.
Winning all those games is highly unlikely with the injuries we have.

  9. In Arsene I trust…
