This is not a one-off-we have this saga every year. It usually involves Barcelona FC deciding they want our best player. Overmars, Petit, Vieira, Henry and now Fabregas.They employ the same tactics every time-and they will continue to do it whilst it works. This is not about Fabregas-this is about Arsenal-Arsenal must stand up to Barcelonas-and if Fabregas goes public and refuses to play-he should be sold to a foreign club who will pay the market price-like Madrid. There is another reason not to sell him to Barcelona-they will become too strong-are we in business to win the ECL or just to supply them with our best players at a cheap rate so they can?

Let’s get realistic here, Arsenal are a selling club. Wenger says he models the football on Barca, but he models the football club on Ajax – produce young talent and then sell them on. We are no nearer winning the premier league now than we were 3 or 4 years ago. We have 2 world class players in Fabregas and van Persie, several average players and a few totally useless cunts in Walcott, Almunia and Silvestre. The only expensive thing about Arsenal is match tickets. Nobody is asking Wenger to bankrupt the club with massive signings every transfer window but a bit of investment is required or we’ll continue to be the nearly men.
